That’s the thought I had as I thumbed through my newest book—Transforming Florida Yards by Amanda Pike, recommended by Maura Plante. This came after an evening reading of Good Energy and laughing with my daughter about the broken toe I managed to get while doing yoga with her (my “relax and recharge” plan after lunch yesterday!). That was, of course, before heading into a Food Policy Advisory Council meeting. 😆
We have so much in the works that it feels surreal when I stop to reflect on who I’ve become since retiring from corporate retail:
✅ Planting for the fall
✅ Opening a new location
✅ Getting ready for a new season with the Bounty Bus and planning community events
✅ Drafting proposals to bring much-needed Access to Fresh programs to our community
✅ Helping establish Florida’s Food is Medicine Excellence Coalition
…and yes, even the admin work!
As I think about this stage of the journey, I feel the momentum. There’s a powerful network working to improve our world—especially around food and regenerating our earth. And the result? Stronger, more connected, more resilient communities—and ultimately, happier people: mind, body, and soul. Agri-Health!
So I’ll keep taking it one step at a time, because when it all connects, the view will be inspirational and the air refreshing.
Right now, though, I’m joyfully “interrupted” by my daughter running outside to play in the pouring rain. I paused my climb to watch her and share in her JOY—grateful for Mother Nature’s energizing gifts that keep us going.
***Pictured is my favorite “medicine” that will be ready to harvest in a few more weeks—Roselle (Sorrel) and Cranberry Hibiscus, seeds I planted back in April. And yes, I edited this post while listening to The Climb by Miley Cyrus… because sometimes you need that extra push. 🌺 🎶
💚 At Access to Fresh, we’re building community through food—one seed, one bus ride, and one joyful moment at a time. 💚
