The Recognition Carries Nichole’s Name. The Work Belongs to a Community

Nichole Dube’s 2026 Community Impact Award nomination reflects the farmers, partners, volunteers, and families working together to build a healthier, more resilient local food system.

We are proud to share that Access to Fresh Co-Founder and Executive Director Nichole Dube has been nominated for the 2026 Simply the Best Community Impact Award, recognizing service and community leadership across Pinellas, Pasco, and Hillsborough counties.

Those who know Nichole know she will be the first to redirect the spotlight—to the farmers who grow the food, the community partners and volunteers who help it reach our neighbors, the supporters who make the work possible, and the families who place their trust in Access to Fresh.

That is what makes this nomination so meaningful. It recognizes the steady, collaborative work of strengthening the connections between local farmers and the communities they nourish.

It also reminds us that community impact is rarely the work of one person. It grows through relationships, shared purpose, and people willing to keep showing up for one another.

Thank you to Elevance Health and the Simply the Best Community Impact Awards for recognizing Nichole’s leadership—and, through her, the growing community of people helping Access to Fresh build a healthier and more resilient local food system.

Most of all, thank you to everyone who continues to help us Build Community Through Food.
